Description Robert Half Finance is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Controller to join the ranks at a well-respected Manufacturing company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Youngstown, Ohio area.
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management Requirements - CPA or MBA preferred
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Prepare Financial Statements experience
Knowledge of journal entries
General ledger experience
Monthly Financial Statements experience
Proficiency in financial auditing
Excellent oral and written communications skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
